MY PHOTOGRAPHIC

JOURNEY

Doing what you love is one of life’s greatest gifts, and I’ve been fortunate to realise this from an early age. My inspiration came from my mother, Esther Craig, a celebrated portrait painter in Scotland. Her creativity and passion for her craft deeply influenced me, nurturing my own love for artistic expression.

Learning from the best has been a cornerstone of my journey. Early on, I had the privilege of assisting on major advertising campaigns, guided by some of the industry’s most brilliant creative directors. These formative experiences shaped my skills, teaching me the balance of discipline and creativity essential for success.

I began my career in portraiture, contributing to leading editorial publications which lead me onto film posters and book covers. These opportunities allowed me to photograph remarkable personalities, including Pavarotti, Jim Carrey, Mariah Carey, and even the Dalai Lama. These projects not only refined my technical craft but also ignited a passion for storytelling and travel.

Several standout moments mark my journey:

  • Spending three immersive days with the SWAT team in Miami for The Sunday Times Magazine.
  • Documenting the Space Shuttle Program and astronaut training at Mission Control.
  • Capturing the breathtaking beauty of Kashmir across its four seasons in a commissioned book.
  • Creating a series of books for the iconic Mr. & Mrs. Smith brand.

As my career evolved, I expanded into global advertising campaigns for brands like Louis Vuitton, Volvo, Etihad Airways, and the London Stock Exchange. One unforgettable assignment took me to Hawaii, where I photographed the volcanic vent on Kilauea Volcano’s Big Island. That experience was transformative, deepening my appreciation for our planet and sparking a commitment to environmental projects that connect people with nature.

Photography has taken me across the world, each assignment offering a fresh perspective and reinforcing my belief in the power of imagery to tell stories, evoke emotions, and inspire change.
