Moving from stills to moving image has always been seen as a natural transition. Although your mind has to adjust to a different type of story telling with less attention to the fine detail. With the advance of technology it has become an integral part of your journey telling the story of creation to delivery.
A Portrait of the Tree film
What is your favourite tree? A simple question, but one that can spark a treasury of stories. From childhood memories of scraped knees and scaled branches to incredible histories of veteran species that have hidden Kings and provided shelter for Queens.
A Portrait of the Tree was conceived as a way of illustrating how trees connect us all on a universal level. The stories behind the chosen subjects are an important link to the photographs themselves. Together they offer a powerful tool to help educate people, from children through to adults, about the vital role that trees play in all our lives. The members of this group are as diverse as they are influential, from Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason to Tony Kirkham, Head of Arboretum at Kew Gardens, photographer Penny Lancaster (Rod Stewart) to Sharron Hosegood President of the institute of Chartered Arboriculturist.
This short film gives an insight into the concept to help raise awareness to combat tree disease and protect our green canopy.
